About Us

Husband-and-wife duo Lorenzo and Julienne founded Anima Gymnastics in 2018, starting in a school gym in Enfield.
The club was created to deliver high-quality recreational gymnastics to the local community and has since grown into a well-established gymnastics club in Barnet.

Since 2022, Anima Gymnastics Club has operated from its own purpose-built facility in Barnet, offering a vibrant and inclusive space for individuals to discover the physically exciting sport of gymnastics.

Today, the club operates seven days a week, providing a variety of classes suitable for all genders, age groups and abilities.
As a result, with over 500 active members, the club continues to grow across North London and Hertfordshire areas.

What We Offer – Gymnastics in Barnet for Every Age

Pre-School Gymnastics (Walkers – 4yrs 6mths)

Our Pre-School programme includes three carefully structured gymnastics classes, designed to support children at different stages of confidence and independence.
Each gymnastics class provides a fun & engaging introduction to movement, helping children develop strength, balance, coordination & confidence!

Toddlers Play (Walkers – 4yrs 6mths)
A relaxed, drop-in gymnastics classes encouraging free exploration in a safe and welcoming environment.
Children explore gymnastics equipment alongside their parent/guardian, developing early movement skills and confidence at their own pace.
Optional circle time at the start and end of the session adds gentle structure through a warm-up/cool-down.

Toddler Learn (2yrs 6mths – 3yrs 6mths)
A structured, coach-led gymnastics class where toddlers begin learning basic skills with parent assistance.
Children are guided through fun, engaging activities that encourage listening, movement and confidence, while parents actively support their child throughout the session.
This class is ideal for toddlers who are still developing independence or confidence.

Toddler Independent (3yrs 6mths – 4yrs 6mths)
A coach-led gymnastics class for children who are confident taking part without a parent present.
Children follow structured activities independently, developing coordination, focus, body awareness and confidence within a group setting.
This class is best suited to children who are comfortable separating from their parent during the session.

Recreational Gymnastics (Reception – School Year 11)

Our recreational gymnastics programme supports children as they grow, develop and progress their skills in a fun and structured environment.
Our Gymnastics classes are grouped by age and readiness, ensuring each gymnast is challenged appropriately while building confidence, strength and enjoyment.

Reception (Born 1 Sept 2020 – 31 Aug 2021)
A fun and active introduction to gymnastics through structured play and skill-based activities. Children learn basic shapes, jumps, rolls and safe landings while developing focus, coordination and body awareness. The class also supports important classroom-readiness skills such as listening, turn-taking and independence.

Fundamentals (School Year 1 – School Year 6)
The first stage of our school-aged gymnastics pathway. This class focuses on building strong foundations through core shapes, strength, coordination and basic gymnastics skills across floor and apparatus. It is ideal for children who are new to gymnastics or transitioning from Reception.

Improvers (School Year 1 – School Year 4)
For gymnasts who have mastered the basics and are ready to develop their skills further. Gymnasts work on improving technique, consistency and confidence while learning more challenging skills. Sessions are longer and more structured, supporting continued progression.

Development (School Year 4 – School Year 11)
A long-term progression class for older gymnasts continuing to develop their skills. Gymnasts warm up together before being grouped by ability, ensuring appropriate challenge and support. This allows gymnasts at different stages to progress at their own pace while training alongside peers of a similar age.

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Squad

Our Women’s Artistic Gymnastics is a structured programme where gymnasts develop
strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence while learning progressive gymnastics skills.

Gymnasts train on the four apparatus — vault, bars, beam and floor — with a focus on safe technique, strong foundations and steady progression.
Gymnasts also take part in basic ballet sessions to develop posture, movement quality and artistry, which support their performance work on floor and beam.
The women’s programme participate in external competitions, representing the club in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Places in the Women’s Artistic programme are by invitation only, and gymnasts are selected based on their ability, attitude and commitment.
